April 1, 2020 was a day that will go down in history. And it was no joke. The historic building at 1102 Pearl Street on the corner of Pearl and 11th Street was demolished. The firmer home of the original Old Chicago will forever be the source of memories for many of us. But we are excited to see what the next chapter holds for 1102 Pearl Check out the demolition!   1102 Pearl has a premier location on the Pearl St. Mall is getting a full-blown upgrade, and you stand to reap the spoils. It sits on the bricks at 11th St.

While social distancing has impacted the economy in unprecedented and, at times, scary ways, we are heartened by some of the innovation already emerging. One local company, The Recess Factory, which organizes walks, runs, and other large scale events around Boulder County, has had all April and May events cancelled or rescheduled. But that didn’t stop founder David Janowiec from doing what he always does: bringing people together for a common cause. This time, he’s rallying people from quarantine.  When the Recess Factory teamed joined the community in social distancing, Janowiec noticed that people were walking and running outside more than ever

All communities are made up of small, medium and large businesses. The identity of those communities and their vitality is directly linked to this diverse mix of businesses. All of our communities are navigating uncharted waters right now. With federal, state, and municipal governments discussing how to move forward with as little disruption to businesses and the economy as possible, it’s hard to keep track of all of the assistance that might be available. Here are some options that you have as a tenant during COVID-19. Stay transparent with your landlord This is a scary time for everyone, and it’s better to

To say the very least, we’re all going through some unprecedented times right now with the rapid spread of COVID-19. While uncertainty hangs in the air and we brace for what is coming, there are things landlords can be doing to help tenants survive the downturn. We believe it is in everyone's best interest to be proactive and ensure tenant/landlord partnerships are positioned for long term success. If you are a landlord, consider the following steps… Keep communication proactive. Landlords, check in with your small business owning tenants, employees, and renters during this time. The best way to see how you can

'--- Monday, March 16   Dear friends and colleagues,   This period of uncertainty is a unique opportunity to remind ourselves of what is most important. Right now, more than ever, is a time to stand together and put first those most at risk in our community. Today, we are donating $1,000 to Mother House, a Boulder non-profit which helps mothers in crisis and their babies receive the care, support, and resources they need to navigate pregnancy and their new role as mothers.  We are proud of this, but more can be done. More must be done.  We are asking for your help. We are asking brokers, landlords, investors,

Real estate is a people business. Our first priority is the wellbeing of our community. During this COVID-19 outbreak we are committed to taking care of our community, our clients and ourselves by keeping up with the latest updates provided by the Colorado Department of Public Health. One of biggest trends reshaping commercial real estate right now is the demand for flexible office space. From the hubbub over the bloated IPOs of coworking giants like WeWork to the increasing demand for flex space, we believe this trend is not just the flavor of the month. It is changing the dynamic between owners and tenants. Are you adapting? What is flex space? An abbreviated form of “flexible space”, flex space refers to a property which can be used for both office and warehouse space (in most cases). We’ve seen a sharp increase in demand for flex space in recent years.

Every week, Heidi and Rachel from Market Boulder will be sitting down with the entrepreneurs, owners, makers, and builders of Boulder. They’re getting behind the scenes of the market with these unique and inspiring stories that will help everyone see our community in a brand new light. Check out all the Market Meets Podcasts.  We are sure that you have heard about Tiny Homes. Whether you’ve noticed them around town, seen them on TV or even done some research of your own, I think we can agree that what might have started as a potential fad, is here to stay. Heidi

We’re thrilled to announce that a Boulder County favorite and go-to online store has expanded into Longmont. Matt Heitmann from TPC spills all about growth, the search for the best space, and what’s next for The Pro’s Closet.  The story of The Pro’s Closet, also referred to as TPC, began in 2006 when pro mountain bike racer Nick Martin founded an eBay business selling his bikes and leftover kit on eBay. This exchange happened not online, but frequently with Martin’s teammates and fellow pro riders. The eBay store grew exponentially, and by the time the mid 2000’s rolled around, TPC had
